HFS contributes to making systems, products, environments and services safe, efficient and easy to use. If reliability, usability and well-being are important, people must be taken into account during the design of products and systems. Human factors is about systematically involving the end-users in the design process.
Who are we?
HFS, established in 1988, is Scandinavia’s largest independent human factors consultancy. Its personnel include highly qualified professionals in the disciplines of human factors, user interface design, working environment and safety, industrial design, systems engineering, computer science, psychology and anthropometry. HFS has a well established network in Europe.
Who do we work for?
Our broad range of satisfied clients includes a number of blue chip companies in the offshore industry, onshore, transportation, teaching and research, and human factors standardisation and regulation.
HFS was awarded a Certificate of Qualification by Achilles Joint Qualification System (JQS), confirming that HFS is a qualified supplier of products and services to the Oil Industry in Norway and Denmark.
What do we do?
HFS provides services throughout the design process, from the development of philosophies and goals, to analyses, research, design, operational evaluations and validation and verification. For example, we have performed and taught the CRIOP Method for validating control rooms and drillers’ cabins since the mid-90s, and led the development of European standards for user interfaces of self-service systems.
