HFS attends Statoil’s Supplier day for SME’s

The Contracts department at Statoil has invited over 700 SME’s for meetings throughout Norway as part of its overall cost cutting STEP programme. The stated intention for Statoil is to buy goods and services directly from SME’s instead of going through several other stakeholders. The perceived advantages include lower costs and improved quality of communication between Statoil and the SME, and a reduction in time needed for decision making. Statoil is also considering moving from the traditional paying for hours used/ products delivered to rewarding «value creation».
