User Interface Development – Coiled Tubing

Client: Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes had a desire to improve the user interface of their Coiled Tubing system in order to improve its usability and to meet legislative requirements for operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The user interface is operated via two touch screens, and two joysticks.

HFS designed and created the graphics for a brand new touch screen control interface, and the alarm and safety systems, based on a user-centred design process. The result was a greatly simplified, yet equally capable system that has been proven in operations on a Statoil platform.
